Zeen Design has extensive industrial design experience showcased in our recently completed project on the Sunshine Coast.

Often, industrial projects require large, open areas to accommodate heavy machinery, production lines, or storage. To maximise productivity and minimise waste, the design needs to focus on efficient use of space, with clear circulation paths and optimised layouts.

Our recent design project at Potassium Street was no exception. The building consisted of two 3,000sqm sheds with office space, manufacturing areas, storage, and delivery areas.

The main feature of this project was the use of cross-laminated timber (CLT) instead of steel portal frames. Cross-laminated timber CLT is a type of engineered wood product that is being increasingly used in building design.

CLT can offer a range of benefits, from sustainability and durability to speed of construction and aesthetic appeal. These benefits made CLT a popular choice for our client.

The material is composed of renewable wood fibres and has a much lower carbon footprint than concrete and steel. It is strong, durable, and has a high load-bearing capacity. It can be used on floors, walls, and roofs.
